And that vision is compelling — until the AI closes a ticket that wasn’t actually resolved, sends a confusing response to an upset client, or escalates a routine request to your most senior engineer at 2 AM.

Full automation is seductive because it promises to remove humans from repetitive work entirely. Technicians spend their time on judgment calls and problem-solving, which is why they got into IT in the first place.

There’s a natural progression in how MSPs adopt AI. Most start with full human review on everything, gain confidence, and gradually allow more conditional autonomy. That’s healthy. The worst outcome is deploying fully autonomous AI before your team trusts it, because the first mistake will set adoption back months.
